ABOUT US

WHO ARE WE?

De Grafische Werkplaats Den Haag (The Graphic Workshop, the Hague) is a production workshop for visual artists, graphic artists, photographers and designers. The Werkplaats is known for being one of the few places in the Netherlands with facilities for large format screen printing, lithography, etching, relief printing and textile printing.

The Werkplaats is open on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:00 to 17:00. Professional supervisors will provide technical and practical advice. It is possible to work at the Werkplaats on an alternative day or time by appointment. If you are new to the Werkplaats, you first have to follow an introduction day or course.

Exhibitions

The Werkplaats regularly organises exhibitions and takes part in the Hague’s gallery route HOOGTIJ. We are enthusiastic participants in other initiatives and festivals such as Open Atelierdagen Centrum (Open Studio Days in the Centre, oktober), Festival de Betovering (The Enchantment Festival in the autumn holidays).

Stichting Grafische Werkplaats

The Stichting de Grafische Werkplaats (The Graphic Workshop Foundation) was founded in 1974. Since then, many professionals have found their way to our facilities. It is where many recently graduated artists have produced their first editions.

The Werkplaats supervisors themselves are active as artists, graphic artist or designers. Together they have a pool of knowledge of the techniques and apparatus used in the Werkplaats. If you need help and advice in one of these areas, please contact us in advance. We can then indicate what time, and which supervisor, would be best to provide you with information.
